USQ’s Sport and Exercise Science Clinic was established as a community exercise rehabilitation service to provide ongoing care for patients with chronic and complex health conditions, whom are unable to pay for private Exercise Physiology services. The clinic is also available to patients who have exhausted available publicly funded services within hospital system.
This clinic is operated by the School of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Southern Queensland, Ipswich. The clinic offers services in variety of areas including assessment, exercise prescription and education for individuals and groups. Services are provided by Sport & Exercise Science students as part of the practicum requirements of their degree at USQ under the supervision of staff who are experienced and accredited as Exercise Physiologists with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA). The clinic provides assessment, consultations, education and group exercise for a range of cancers (e.g. Prostate, Breast etc)
