I have been practicing yoga for almost 20 years, and teaching since 2006. I practice Vijnana yoga, which emphasizes seven principles of bodily awareness, such as elongation, rooting, connection, and relaxation of weight. The idea behind these principles is to deepen the understanding and experience the practice from within oneself.
Along with my routine classes that are suitable for most people, I specialize in a personally developed technique for women battling breast cancer in all stages of their struggle (i.e. after a surgery, during chemotherapy, and radiation therapy) and up to three years after recovery. Additionally, I work with groups and/or individuals who require a particular, specific practice, such as elderly communities, people with orthopedic ailments, and those suffering from multiple sclerosis.
.
I also started a program, “Yoga at your Door”, which offers private lessons for women who have just undergone surgery or treatment and feel unable to leave their home.
In the past few years I have been training experiensed yoga teacers to work with people who battle with cancer through the different stages of treatment.
