I provide individual, couples and family therapy. I have significant experience working with cancer patients and their family providing support.
I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves to be heard. Through my own experiences, I have seen the effect a good listener can have on another’s outlook. As I followed my own journey, I realized I can help others.
Prior to becoming a therapist, my career focused on domestic violence, behavioral and clinical research. Upon pursuing my licensing, I worked with the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach. During my tenure I provided services to patients, their families, and facilitated kids’ community and developed kids’ grief support group. This experience provided me with an extensive understanding of chronic disease/illness, grief and loss, family issues, and addiction.
Therapy truly is a journey and I am here to help with yours.
I deeply believe that the therapeutic process can unravel life’s stressors. Together we can help you gain a deeper understanding, build self-esteem, create awareness, regain confidence, and find your inner-peace and self-empowerment.
Our past does not define our present.
My role is to guide – YOU are the expert in your life. I will help you understand how circumstances brought you here and together we can work on getting you back on a track you want. My style is directive as I draw from various therapeutic orientations. We are all different and benefit from different approaches. It’s important that I follow your lead and adapt to your specific needs. This means we go at your unique pace.
Simple but complicated: the common impact of many issues is a sense of loss.
While I have extensive experience helping people cope with trauma-related issues, I specialize in providing healthy coping skills with loss. Loss is the devastating result of so many life events – divorce, illness, injury, chronic pain, unemployment, identity changes. All these life transitions can create feelings of emptiness, sadness, anxiety, loss of motivation, and other related feelings.
