We receive referrals from Doctors routinely, however you do not need one to see us. We encourage the integration of Traditional Eastern and Western Medicine and are happy to work with your primary care provider.

Acupuncture is an ancient practice, however the science behind the practice is solid and is widely recognized and respected as an effective treatment for many illnesses and conditions.
The World Health Organization has recognized that acupuncture is an appropriate treatment for more than 200 clinical conditions. Some of the conditions that can be effectively treated or relieved include:
Gastrointestinal Disorders: Food allergies, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, peptic ulcer, gastritis, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome.

Jennifer Stone, L.Ac.
Jennifer A. M. Stone MSOM, LAc. has practiced acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for over 28 years, and participated in acupuncture research for 10 years. She is assistant research faculty for the Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesia and Department of Pediatric Oncology. She has participated in NIH funded research on both animal and human subjects. She serves as Editor In Chief of JASA: The Journal of The American Society of Acupuncturists, and is the owner of East West Acupuncture, in Bloomington, IN.
Her research interests include acupuncture as an adjunct in the cancer setting for the palliation of symptoms associated with cancer treatments. She has published 3 papers and a book chapter on the use of acupuncture in the oncology setting and possible mechanisms behind the effects. Specifically she is interested in peripheral nerve pain and has conducted research on acupuncture for the treatment of post-herpetic neuralgia, publishing 2 papers on the findings. Her team at IUSM is currently working on a proposed research study to investigate the immunomodulatory mechanisms including mesenchymal stem cells on the effects of acupuncture in patients with post herpetic neuralgia.
David Simpson:
David is a licensed, board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist specializing in pain, trauma, sports medicine, and dermatology based in Bloomington, Indiana. He is passionate about exploring the pathways of the bodymind as they pertain to health, and their analogy to the greater world.
Since 2010, David built his first private practice in New York City that grew into a highly sought after destination for pain management and patient care. He utilizes a unique blend of acupuncture and herbal strategies, rehabilitative Qi Gong practices, craniosacral therapy, and Tui Na (a medical massage and “bone setting” system incorporating highly effective diagnostic and therapeutic techniques) to give patients immediate and lasting results.
David is fluent in English and Japanese.
David is currently president of the Indiana Society of Acupuncturists.
