Because you deserve to feel supported and healthy…

Foundation96 is a unique organisation that is passionate about offering a support network for people transitioning from cancer treatment to everyday life who have ongoing health issues, especially post-treatment.

We do this by connecting their side effects with effective, evidence-based health treatments and the Health and Wellness Professionals who can deliver these treatments. We believe in providing an integrated approach to health, offering services across various disciplines to ensure the best possible outcomes — because they deserve to feel supported and healthy.

Our Vision

To provide an innovative online integrated and evidence-based supportive care community for people transitioning from cancer treatment to everyday life.

Our Mission

To provide a safe and supportive care community consisting of multidisciplinary service providers for people and their caregivers transitioning from active cancer treatment to everyday life.

How we create a safe and supportive cancer care community

Building a safe and supportive cancer care community requires the creation of support pathways from both an individual and a Health and Wellness Provider perspective. The Cancer Treatment Care Plan is a free service that helps to explain, based on your symptoms and using published research, how Health and Wellness Professionals can help manage the side effects of your cancer treatment or aid in your ongoing treatment plan.

You can sign up for our newsletters to stay informed, while our news section offers global stories to inspire you.

Why Foundation96?

The famous Hippocrates, the “Father of Medicine”, used the term carcinoma to describe tumours.

In Greek, carcinoma refers to a crab and was probably applied to the disease because the cancer spreading brought the shape of a crab to mind. Later, the Roman physician Celsus translated the Greek term into Latin — cancer — symbolised like this ♋︎.

If you turn the crab symbol around, you get 96.

“Turning cancer around” is what we are all about…

Meet the Team

Karen Anderson Founder and Health Consultant BAppSci AEP MESSA

Accredited Exercise Physiologist ESSA | Cancer Exercise Specialist ACSM

Karen’s career spans decades of cancer care and support as an exercise physiologist specialising in supporting people living with cancer.

Throughout her career, Karen has developed programs and worked with oncologists and other healthcare providers in an integrated care approach to develop exercise programs and provide health coaching for people living with and recovering from cancer.

Her primary role has been as an exercise physiologist specialising in cancer care and oncology. She has also worked closely with the Leukaemia Foundation (Australia) and as the Chronic Disease Wellness Director at the innovative Carilion Clinic (USA).

Over that time, Karen came to see a huge gap in the care and treatment of people transitioning from formal cancer treatment to living their daily lives. She identified a need to create a virtual cancer health and wellness consulting service and resource networking portal.
