Seddon Therapies offers specialist massage and myotherapy services
Seddon Therapies was founded in 2003 by Fran Hall and Kevin Skillen. Established as a stand alone massage clinic in Charles Street, Seddon, the aim was to provide quality on time hands on massage treatment at an affordable price. This is still our aim today. Our business has continually grown over the years, having undergone two relocations to larger premises. We hope our current premises at 123 Somerville Road, Yarraville will be our forever home.
Oncology Massage aims at providing deep relaxation for people experiencing cancer or who have a history of cancer. Gentle and slow techniques are used to ensure that the treatment works within the client’s limitations.
This very light and nurturing technique is especially useful in dealing with pain reduction and reducing fatigue, nausea and anxiety in a relaxed and comfortable environment. It is also extremely important to take into consideration past history of cancer and associated treatments in order to provide safe massage.
PATIENTS UNDERGOING TREATMENT:
Massage can safely be performed at any stage including where tumours or medical devices are present by providing the client with comfortable positioning.
Massage is useful in aiding the client to deal with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Massage can assist the client in dealing with pain reduction, nausea, anxiety, depression, fatigue and sleep difficulties. Many oncology patients also feel stiff and sore from the rigours of treatment and inactivity. A gentle massage can increase the feeling of well being and ease these tensions.
Massage aids with deep relaxation and provides the client with a retreat from the medical and familial stresses of dealing with cancer.
